ConnectionPool (with connectToGroup and its limits) leaves search-page.js
for connection-pool.js, and LazyTile/MediaThumb leave video-app.js for
media-tiles.js, cut as text. The shell and the Music and Photos apps now
reach them without importing the search page or the Videos app.

The _enrich_*/_reenrich_* methods and _on_enriched become
EnrichmentMixin in meshbay_node/enrichment.py, with the two directory

The per-feature design notes were merged into docs/MESHBAY_DESIGN.md and
deleted from the tree on 2026-09-11, but ~230 comments across the three
packages still named them — usually written `docs/musicbay.md §3.2`, as
though the file were still in docs/. A reader had to know §16 existed to
resolve any of them. They now name the section directly.
Every mapping comes from §16, the concordance, which already records where
each old section landed: musicbay -> §9.8, mediacenter -> §9.7 for the
Videos app and §6.5 where the subject is derived data, photos -> §9.9,
auth-confirm -> §3.6, refactoring-search -> §9.11, invite-pairing-v1 ->
§3.4, per-node-identity-v1 -> §3.2, captcha -> §7.7, chat-sender-keys ->
§4.5, apps/refactor-groups -> §9.1–§9.4, desktop-client-v1 per section.
Bare citations of the same documents (`draft-v6 §2.11`, `§4.8`, `§3.4`)
are retargeted too: those collide with real section numbers in the design
document, so leaving them would have been worse than the named form.
Four cases the concordance does not cover, each decided rather than guessed:
Sub-item references into documents that no longer exist — mediacenter's
`§3.3 row 4`, `§3.4b/c`, `apps.md §3b` — name rows and sub-items §9.7 and
§9.2 do not reproduce. The module-level citation stays; the sub-item
pointer is dropped.
The V-findings keep their labels but lose the dead `§10.1/` prefix.
§13.8 lists V1–V13 as per-application open items, which is not what the
labels mean in these comments, so pointing them at §13.8 would have been
a false citation.
`apps.md §5`'s virtualization requirement has no counterpart anywhere in
the design document. The requirement is stated in the comment itself, so
the citation is dropped rather than aimed at a section that does not say
it.
Comments that attributed a *sentence* to an old note — musicbay's "several
thousand files" example, its "what got measured" note, its measured
~11%/~26% cover-art figures, the "original no root, whole shared tree"
call — state the fact without attribution now. §9.8 does not contain those
sentences and citing it for them would have been wrong.
CLAUDE.md's "a reference to a document that no longer exists" row now says
the concordance is for git history and out-of-tree material; the code cites
sections directly.
Verified: 2851 passed, 4 skipped. The 12 errors in the run are the Firefox
leg of test_sticky_header.py's browser harness, which is broken at the
browser level on this machine — headless Firefox (snap) dies with
`[GFX1-]: RenderCompositorSWGL failed mapping default framebuffer`, renders
nothing, and the probe exits `{"error": "no measurement"}` after its full
90s wait. Chrome runs the same 12 assertions in 3.2s and passes. Nothing
here can affect it: every changed line in style.css is inside a comment.
Also checked: ast.parse on every changed .py, `node --check` on every
changed .js, the /* */ balance in style.css, and that no changed line
exceeds the width its file already used.

`MNP_MIN_SUPPORTED` is the version this build speaks, so `check_version`
refuses everything below it at the handshake. Every capability the client was
gating on the node's version is therefore true of every peer it can reach:
* `supportsSealedUpload` — an upload is sealed or it is not sent;
* `supportsAppOps` — one `app_directories` op, and no `setVideoRoot` /
`setAudioRoot` / `setPhotoRoots` wrappers behind it;
* `supportsTransferSlots` and `Lease._skip()` — a lease is always real, so
there is no branch where a transfer runs without one;
* `legacyNode`, the read-only shared-directories table, and the two hints
telling an operator their node is too old to configure an app.
The version the node declares is still recorded, for diagnostics. Nothing
branches on it, and the comment says so, because a field kept "just in case" is
how the branches came back last time.
`test_mnp_1_0_node_compat.py` goes with them: it existed to hold the fallbacks
in place, and holding a fallback that cannot execute is how a suite starts
lying. The two locale strings for those hints are removed from all ten
catalogues.
Hub suite 872 passed (test_sticky_header deselected — failing before this).

The dashed warning outline and the "?" flag say a TMDB lookup ran and came
back with nothing — that is how an operator finds the titles worth a "Fix
match". With TMDB switched off for the group no lookup is made at all:
media_meta_req answers confidence 0 for the whole library by design, so the
poster grid drew every card as a failure of the very thing the operator
chose, with no poster ever coming to clear it.
Poster mode now shows the file's own thumbnail plainly in that case, the
same as Flat does, and keeps the badge for what it was built for.
- PosterCard takes tmdbEnabled and gates both the outline and the "?" on
`tmdbEnabled && !confident`. The title still falls back to the parsed
filename exactly as before, and the ready/imageReady anti-flash gating is
untouched.
- VideoDetailModal gates its "no confident match" paragraph the same way. A
show still opens that modal with TMDB off — it is where the season list
lives — so the card alone would have left the claim one click deeper.
- Its operator-only "Fix match" / "Rematch" buttons are gated too: both act
on a match that does not exist, one opening a search the node answers
empty, the other dropping a cached match never made. Those buttons are the
only entry points to TmdbSearchOverlay and doRematch.
- Both props default to true, so a call site that forgets one keeps the badge
rather than silently losing it.
search-page.js is deliberately left passing `enabled: true`: a cross-group
view has no single group's switch to read, and it never showed the operator
buttons anyway (isNodeAdmin={false}).
Recorded as §10.7 in docs/mediacenter.md.

Each app's settings were inlined in `group-settings.js` — TMDB, MusicBrainz,
and one folder picker per app, each with its own draft state and save handler
saying the same thing about a different key. They are one file per app now,
reached through the `apps.js` registry, and the page that renders them names no
application at all: adding one is a registry entry and a settings file.
The line between the two is what makes that true. What every app has — folders
— the page does generically, through one `saveDirectories` bound to the app.
What one app alone has, its pane does itself with the transport it is handed.
An app that only needs directories touches neither `group-settings.js` nor
`group-page.js`, which is `test_app_settings_plugin.py`'s subject.
`settings-ui.js` exists because a pane importing the page that renders it is a
cycle, and ES modules answer that with a temporal-dead-zone ReferenceError at
first render — a component that silently does not appear, the fault already
recorded in CLAUDE.md about hook ordering.
The flat depth-indented `<select>` of every folder in the library becomes a
modal tree. It asks the node for nothing: the tree is derived from paths the
client already holds, so it shows exactly what the group's index contains and
adds no folder-browsing protocol. For Chat's attachment folder — the one
directory that is written to rather than read — read-only roots are greyed
out, so the node's refusal arrives before the operator picks rather than when
somebody sends a file.
Videos and Music take a list of folders. A library on two drives could not be
described before; the only recourse was pointing the app at a parent containing
both, which pulls in everything else under it. The scalar shapes survive on the
wire alone, for a node speaking MNP 1.0, and the client reads them as a
one-element list.
Two things the tests caught that I would not have:
`test_asset_versioning` — six new modules were missing from `_ASSETS`. Reached
through the registry rather than imported by name, they are exactly the files
nothing else would notice changing, and a stale one is served from cache with
no version bump.
And `node --check foo.js` does **not** reliably report a module syntax error:
it accepted `${/* ... */''}` — htm template syntax pasted into a plain object
literal — and reported success. A `.mjs` copy forces the module parser and
reports it. The suite had no syntax check at all, which is how that reached a
file; `test_spa_syntax.py` does it for every module now, and pins that the
loose path is not what it uses.
Suite: 12 failures, all pre-existing.

Replace the upload boolean with per-root writable/removable/ejected flags.
Backend: new ops (update_root, eject_root, plug_root), MNP 1.1 protocol
messages, live RootSet updates so API always reflects current state, CLI
root subcommand (add/remove/set/list/eject/plug).
Frontend: SharedDirectoriesTable with optimistic toggle switches, eject/plug
in Files and Settings, upload gated on root.writable, ejected-root filtering
in all media apps, updated Create Group wizard, 10-locale i18n.

Phases 5-8 of docs/refactoring-search.md, extending the Videos merge
outward. A library shared by two groups now lists each track once inside
an album and each photo once inside a photo album, and a card served by
several groups says "N sources" instead of naming one of them.
Units come from each application's own grouping, never a copy of its
keys. For Music that meant exporting foldKey: groupMusicEntries folds
case to group but keeps the first-seen spelling to display, and which
group is seen first is whichever index arrived first — so keying a unit
on the display strings would let the chosen source change between page
loads.
A group whose connection fails is marked down and stops being chosen, so
a unit fails over to another group that has the file. Eviction is not a
failure. Every source being down still yields an entry: a tile that
fails to load beats a film that vanished from the grid.
sourceLabel now takes the whole unit rather than one entry. A show's
poster entry is picked for its thumbnail, so a show in two groups whose
cover episode sits in only one of them would have claimed a single
source. SourceTag lives in group-name.js — source-merge.js must keep
importing nothing (its test executes it standalone), and a copy in each
of the three apps is three chances to disagree.
test_search_files_unmerged.py holds the one thing that must not change:
the Files explorer is not merged, because there each group is a folder
and merging would remove a file from one of them. It also asserts the
other three lists are merged, or deleting the merge outright would leave
it passing and saying nothing.
One plan item was dropped as wrong rather than built: the Music queue in
onPreview needed no change. It filters by groupId and is reachable only
from FilesPanel, which is not merged.

Reported live: a show with a dozen seasons opened on season 6. Every season
was in the picker and none was missing — the default was wrong.
VideoDetailModal took it from `repEntry.season`. `repEntry` is the show's
"representative entry", which the poster grid picks as
`episodes.find((e) => e.thumb_hash) || episodes[0]`: the first episode that
has a thumbnail, so the card has a fallback frame when TMDB has no poster.
That is from the original Videos commit; the season tabs came later and read
the same entry as "the episode the reader is looking at", which it never was
on that path. Episodes are sorted by (season, episode), so a show whose first
five seasons had no thumbnail yet — a partial enrichment pass, or ffmpeg
failing on those files — hands back a season-6 episode.
`defaultSeason(show)` reads the season list and nothing else: the lowest
season present, specials only when there is nothing else, and the lowest
*number* rather than the first entry so it does not quietly depend on
buildSeasons keeping its sort. The effect's dependency on repEntry goes with
it — nothing in it reads that any more.
test_video_default_season.py runs the function in node. No input it takes can
carry a thumbnail, which is the point. docs/mediacenter.md §10.5.

The previous pass fixed the synopsis and the cast, and the dialog still
jumped: the episode count moves things a fixed-height synopsis cannot reach.
- The body scrolled as a whole, so a thirteen-episode season pushed the modal
to its max-height where a six-episode one had not. `.video-overlay` centres
its child, so the taller modal also *started higher up the screen* — title
bar, close button and all. `.video-detail-steady` (a multi-season show only)
gives the modal a height rather than a max-height, makes the body a flex
column, and hands the leftover to the episode list as the one scrolling
part. A constant-height box is centred in the same place every time, so both
halves settle at once.
- A scrolling season draws a scrollbar where a non-scrolling one draws none,
which is a scrollbar's width of content and re-wrapped the file path above
it, shifting everything below by a line. `scrollbar-gutter: stable`.
- The season panel was clipped by the modal's own `overflow: hidden` whenever
the seasons outran the room under the picker — at a 740px viewport it wanted
320px and had 288, and the rest sat where no scroll could reach it. It is
`position: fixed` now, placed by `placeSeasonPanel()`, which takes the
trigger's rect and the window height, picks whichever side has more room,
and caps the panel to it.
Scoped to multi-season shows throughout: a movie has no season to switch to
and a fixed height would buy it nothing but empty space.
test_video_detail_measured.py now builds each block inside a real
`.video-overlay`, since the centring is half the defect, and asserts the modal
top and height as well as the picker's offset — for a long and a short
synopsis and for a six- and a twenty-four-episode season.
test_season_panel_placement.py runs placeSeasonPanel() in node over a rect and
a window height. Two guards are declarations rather than rectangles and say so
in their docstrings: headless Chrome gives the probe zero-width overlay
scrollbars, so the gutter cannot be measured there.

Opening a different season of the same show moved everything under the
synopsis, which is where the season control and the episode list are, so the
thing just clicked was no longer under the pointer.
- The synopsis is exactly three lines for a multi-season show, with a "read
more" link floated into the third line box (-webkit-line-clamp only ever
puts its ellipsis at the end of the last line and leaves no room after it).
Clamped from above and pinned from below to the same number: a constant,
not a range — a season summary runs two lines and the next one twelve, and
a band still reads as a jump. Whether three lines is all of it depends on
the modal's width, so it is measured in the browser and re-measured on a
resize.
- The cast is clamped to two lines.
- SeasonMenu replaces SeasonTabs: the tab row scrolled sideways once a show
had more seasons than fit, which is close to unusable on a phone. One
trigger reading "Season 5 · 1997" and a menu of every season with its
episode count, one row high whatever the season count.
- media_meta_resp.director was filled from the credits crew's job ==
"Director", a movie shape. TMDB's aggregate tv_credits crew is routinely
empty and never carries that job, so every show answered null and the modal
dropped the line. It now comes from created_by on the show details. Cached
show metadata keeps its null until TMDB_META_TTL_SECS expires or an
operator re-matches.
The facts line is joined rather than concatenated (a title with no rating
used to open with " · ") and carries the show's own year next to the
director; the selected season's air year moved onto the picker.
test_video_detail_measured.py asserts rectangles through layout_probe.py, not
declarations: the picker's offset inside its own modal body is the same pixel
either way, the synopsis and cast heights, where the read-more link lands,
and the open menu at 320 px. Each measured block sits in a whole-pixel-height
container, or two identical layouts an eighth of a pixel apart round to tops
one pixel apart. test_tmdb_show_director.py covers the credit.

The cross-group "Search files" view caps its WebRTC connection pool at
MAX_POOL_SIZE but pre-connected every indexed group, so any account with
more groups than the cap thrashed the pool. An evicted transport was
never removed from SearchPage's own groupConns map, so every tile of that
group kept a `_tRef` pointing at a closed transport; MediaThumb and
useMediaMeta bail on a disconnected transport with no retry, so posters
rendered for a moment then fell back to a loading spinner for good. Every
connect also fired the module-wide bumpMediaMetaGeneration(), clearing
every mounted tile's metadata across all groups and flickering the whole
grid through the warm-up walk. A one-group account (grenet) never hit it;
a many-group account (cbesson) always did.
- ConnectionPool takes an onEvict callback; SearchPage prunes groupConns
and rebuilds the entry lists when a connection is evicted or closed.
- MAX_POOL_SIZE 3 -> 12; the pre-connect walk is capped to it. Groups
past the cap connect lazily when a tile scrolls into view (onNeedConn).
- connectGroup() no longer fires the module-wide meta/thumb generation
bumps on a normal connect (kept for operator TMDB override/rematch).
Per-group gen counter + concurrent-caller guard: a group's tiles
refetch once per (re)connect, not once per mounting tile.
- MediaThumb/useMediaMeta take an optional reloadKey; each group's
`_connGen` is threaded through so a tile refetches when its group
reconnects instead of staying stuck on a spinner.

Real franchise / show / release-group names had crept back into test
fixtures, code comments, a docstring and docs/mediacenter.md while fixing
the saga-match and misclassification bugs. Replace them all with invented
placeholders ("Some Saga", "A Different Show") and shape descriptions
("a franchise-origin film", "a 3-season show"). Behaviour and assertions
unchanged; 738 node tests still pass.
Record the rule in CLAUDE.md so it stops recurring.

V12 collapsed movies that TMDB resolved to the same tmdb_id into one
card. With the matcher still imperfect that fuses *different films*:
every numbered entry of a saga whose bare title resolves to the same
base id becomes one card, and two unrelated movies sharing a title do
too (seen live on a 9-film saga and a 2-film pair). A tmdb_id-keyed
merge only works once matching is reliable, which it is not yet.
Movies render one card per file again; VideoDetailModal loses the
`files` prop and the versions list, back to a single Play button;
`.video-version-list` and the `video.versions` key (×10 locales) are
removed. mergedShows (V6) is untouched — the operator's report was
about movies.
docs/mediacenter.md §10.1: V12 un-struck, marked reverted.

Root of the 2026-08-29 demo35 storms. `_do_media_meta_request` could not
tell "this is a movie" from "this video isn't enriched yet" — both have
season/episode None — so during a slow initial scan with a browser on the
Videos tab, every show episode requested was run through the *movie*
search path with its raw filename as the query
(`search/movie?query=Show S01E01 1080p WEB DL ...`), hundreds per second,
until TMDB rate-limited and posters stopped loading. Worse, an
un-enriched show episode's own valid cached "tv" match was treated as
stale (its provisional kind was "movie"), so a file already resolved got
re-queried anyway.
- While a video is un-enriched (no display_title — enrich.py always sets
one), never run a TMDB *search*. Serve the cached match if the content
hash has one, honouring the cached kind ("tv"/"movie") rather than the
provisional split; otherwise answer confidence 0.
- Once enriched, the strict `cached_media_type == media_type` check is
unchanged: an enrichment fix that reclassifies a folder movie->tv still
drops the stale match and re-resolves.
- video-app.js: `useMediaMeta` gains an `enrichSig` dependency
(`entry.display_title`) so the client refetches once the enriched fields
arrive on an index delta — the fileId is a content hash and never
changes, so nothing else would retrigger it.
Not caused by the V8-V13 work; it raised the per-file call count so the
pre-existing race became a visible storm.

A one-click alternative to the full "Fix match" search-and-pick flow, and
reachable without SSH (`meshbay-node video rematch` clears a whole group).
- MNP 0.13: tmdb_rematch / tmdb_rematch_ack (additive — an older node
logs "unknown type", the button just does nothing). OP_TMDB_REMATCH,
signed like tmdb_override (media_cache is shared node-wide).
- media_cache.drop_tmdb_match(file_id): forgets the match AND the
override marker — deliberately stronger than clear_file_tmdb, since the
operator is explicitly asking for a fresh resolution.
- webrtc_server: _do_tmdb_rematch / _admin_exec_tmdb_rematch, dispatch +
admin-response routing, broadcasts tmdb_rematch_ack.
- transport.js: rematchTmdbMatch(fileId, signFn); 'tmdb_rematch' in the
admin-op allowlist; tmdb_rematch_ack handled like tmdb_override_ack.
- video-app.js: a "Re-match" button beside "Fix match" in the detail
modal (isNodeAdmin), then bumpMediaMetaGeneration(). video.rematch_one
key in all ten locales.
docs/mediacenter.md §10.1: V8–V13 marked done.

Two movie files that TMDB resolves to the same id (the same film at two
resolutions, or the same rip in two folders) now collapse to one poster
card, mirroring the existing show merge — same keying discipline so an
unmerged movie keeps its card and a merge updates props rather than
remounting. The detail modal lists the versions (resolution · duration ·
size), each a Play button, when there is more than one; a single-file
movie is unchanged. New `video.versions` key in all ten locales.
Known edge, noted in §10.1: "Fix match" on a merged movie corrects only
the representative file; the other version un-merges and can be corrected
on its own.

A batch of wrong poster-grid matches found live on a real library
(2026-08-29): a two-volume film's second part matched the first; a
numbered sequel matched a same-year making-of documentary; several
entries of one franchise matched a single early entry whose localized
TMDB title is the franchise name; one matched nothing. One mechanism:
_tmdb_search returned the first candidate query whose title-similarity
ratio merely cleared 0.6, before alternative_title / the Roman-numeral
variant was ever tried.
Matching:
- title_parse: fold guessit's volume/part number back into display_title
so the parts of a multi-part film stay distinct in the query, the card
and the override.
- _tmdb_search: keep a strong PASS 1 fast path (ratio >= 0.85, one
request), otherwise score every candidate query and pick the best. A
year-exact rescue lifts a sub-0.6 top hit to the confidence floor only
when TMDB's own year-filtered result lands exactly on the filename's
year. No local re-ranking of any single result list; no tmdb.py change.
Fix match / rematch:
- _admin_exec_tmdb_override: a movie override touches its own file only
(guessit gives a whole franchise one display_title); a show override
still fans out. Corrected files are marked in media_cache.tmdb_override.
- media_cache: tmdb_override table; clear_file_tmdb / clear_tmdb_matches
drop auto-resolved matches while sparing manual corrections.
- ops.rematch_video + `meshbay-node video rematch` (loopback endpoint +
CLI verb): re-resolve a group's video matches after a matcher fix.
file_tmdb is keyed by content hash and otherwise only pruned on
deletion, so nothing dislodged a cached match before.
- a rename now drops the stale auto match too (daemon
_reenrich_renamed_video_entries).
UI:
- VideoDetailModal shows the source filename and resolved TMDB id; an
unmatched poster gets a badge (3 new video.* i18n keys x 10 locales).
So a wrong match can actually be identified before hitting Fix match.
docs/mediacenter.md 10.1 records this and the V8-V13 follow-up backlog
(show-branch ladder, year-aware _best_match, wider sequel_variants, the
0.6-0.85 extra calls, movie grid merge, per-card rematch).

Search page fetches indexes from all groups, then renders consolidated
entries through the existing FilesPanel, VideoApp, and MusicApp
components — no reimplemented views. Groups appear as top-level
directories in the file browser; video/music entries use a synthetic
root with per-entry transport refs for thumbnails and metadata across
groups. Music player lifted to app.js with getConnection(groupId) for
cross-group playback. Connection pool (max 3, LRU eviction) manages
lazy WebRTC connections. All 10 locales updated with search keys.

A segmented control to the left of the search box, defaulting to "All".
Applied before the text filter — a title match within a type nobody asked
to see still isn't shown. Resets to "All" on group change, matching the
text filter's own reset.

IndexEntry.path is the *folder* a file is in (indexer.py's
_virtual_dir docstring: "the directory a file appears in"), not the
file itself. GroupIndex.get_entry_by_path() treated it as if it named
one file, and every one of its four callers did too:
_do_music_meta_request, _do_media_meta_request, _do_tmdb_override, and
_admin_exec_tmdb_override. Any two files sharing a folder — an album is
one folder with many tracks, a season is one folder with many episodes
— collided: a lookup by path silently returned whichever entry the
index happened to iterate to first, regardless of which file the
client actually asked about.
Found live (2026-08-25): three unrelated albums ("High Tone - Various",
two "Le Peuple de l'Herbe" albums) all showed the same MusicBrainz
cover, because all their representative tracks happened to sit in one
"high_tone" folder alongside a track that legitimately matched that
cover. A force-reload didn't help — the bug is server-side, not a
stale client state.
Fixed by keying these four request/response pairs by `file_id` (the
entry's own content hash — already unique, already how every other
lookup in the system identifies a file) instead of `path`, both in the
wire messages (music_meta_req/resp, media_meta_req/resp, tmdb_override)
and in music-app.js/video-app.js's own hooks. GroupIndex.get_entry_by_path
is now unused and removed — GroupIndex.get_entry(file_id) already did
the right thing.
No test previously exercised either handler with two entries sharing a
folder — the only existing coverage (test_tmdb_override_policy.py) gave
each entry its own folder, so the bug never had a chance to show up.
Added that scenario there and in two new test files, all confirmed
failing against the pre-fix code before being confirmed green against
the fix.

Implements the client half of docs/musicbay.md against MNP 0.8:
- music-app.js: album grid (grouped by artist -> album, from index-time
artist/album fields) or flat folder view, per-group localStorage
toggle like Videos. MusicBrainz (music_meta_req) is only looked up
when a track has no embedded cover at all — well-tagged files never
trigger a network call, unlike Videos where TMDB is unconditional.
Reuses video-app.js's MediaThumb/LazyTile (now exported) rather than
duplicating the chunk-path thumbnail decode + virtualization.
- music-player.js: the persistent player bar — queue, shuffle (Fisher-
Yates, keeps the current track in place when toggled), repeat (off/
all/one), volume (localStorage), prev/next, a one-track prefetch
cache. No MSE, no node-side streaming: a track is downloaded and
decrypted once via file-utils.js's pipelinedDownload, same chunk
pipeline Files already uses, then played from a blob URL.
- group-page.js: owns musicQueue/musicbrainzConfig state and renders
MusicPlayerBar outside the tab-switched area — deliberately, so
playback survives navigating to Chat/Files, the same reasoning the
video/preview modals are shell-owned rather than app-owned.
- apps.js: registers "music". transport.js: fetchMusicMeta (keyed by
path, same reordering-hazard fix as fetchMediaMeta),
setMusicbrainzConfig/setMusicbrainzEnabled (signed ops, mirroring
TMDB's), and the three new ack handlers. group-settings.js: a
MusicBrainz settings section (contact string, per-group toggle) —
the existing Applications checklist already picks up "music" for
free, per apps.md's own claim.
- icon.js: music/pause/skip-next/skip-prev/shuffle/repeat/volume,
drawn in the same stroked style as the existing set.
- i18n: group.tab_music, the music.* and settings_node.musicbrainz_*
keys, translated (not just copied) across all ten locales, Polish
carrying full one/few/many/other plural forms for music.n_tracks.
- webapp.py's _ASSETS, test_hook_ordering.py's STATIC_FILES and
test_transport_contracts.py's SPLIT_FILES gain the two new files.
Full suite (common + hub + node): 1116 passed, no regressions.
`npm run sync-ui` in meshbay-client confirmed both files copied.

Three bugs found live testing the Videos app against a real HEVC/EAC3 show,
plus a design change requested afterward:
- Streaming always did "-c:v copy", which faithfully reports a source's real
hev1 codec string but is unplayable in a browser with no HEVC decoder
(most Chrome/Linux builds). The node now transcodes to H264 whenever the
probed codec is browser-incompatible (media_probe.py's new
BROWSER_INCOMPATIBLE_VIDEO_CODECS), with a `transcode_incompatible_video`
node.toml opt-out for operators who know their viewers already decode it.
- Dropping a whole season into an already-watched folder gave no scanning
indicator and no progress bar: IndexProgress was only ever updated by the
two bulk scan paths, never by the real-time per-file watchdog path
(_schedule_update/_debounce/_update_entry). That path now accounts a
"burst" the same way, without double-counting a file rewritten mid-debounce.
- A stray literal "0" rendered in the video detail modal when there was no
TMDB match (`meta.confidence` is 0, and `0 && x` renders "0" in JSX/htm,
not nothing) — `confident` is now a real boolean.
- Whether TMDB is used at all moves from a node-wide setting to per-group
(OP_TMDB_ENABLED/tmdb_enabled/tmdb_enabled_ack, scoped like OP_VIDEO_ROOT):
an operator running a real media-library group alongside test/demo groups
on one node wants outbound TMDB traffic for the one that needs it, not all
of them. The custom API token and query language stay node-wide, one
shared credential/cache (tmdb_config/OP_TMDB_CONFIG, unchanged reasoning).
MNP_VERSION 0.6 -> 0.7, additive.

wizard polish
Two operator-facing fixes for a real 3-season show whose automatic TMDB
match was wrong at the show level: per-season overview/air_date tabs in the
detail modal (falling back to the show-level text when a season's own is
empty), and a "Fix match…" search-and-correct affordance that re-resolves
every file sharing the corrected show's display_title. New signed op
OP_TMDB_OVERRIDE and two read-only pairs (season_meta_req/resp,
tmdb_search_req/resp), MNP_VERSION 0.5 -> 0.6.
Also: the create-group wizard gets a spinning indexing indicator and an
app-selection step, group settings default the TMDB language to the
operator's own locale (never as a global default), and a file renamed
mid-session now re-triggers title parsing instead of being silently
skipped by the enrichment dedup guard.
Fixes two bugs found during this work: the search overlay's z-index lost
to the base video-overlay class and rendered invisibly, and season_meta's
own empty overview didn't fall back to the show-level one.

Implements docs/mediacenter.md: a "Videos" group application built on the
existing files index rather than a separate catalogue. On the node side,
new indexer enrichment (technical probe, filename/season parsing, thumbnail
generation) runs per-file once an operator has chosen a video_root for the
group, plus a TMDB client for on-demand poster/metadata lookups (never
client-side, thumbnails delivered over the existing chunk path). On the hub
side, a new video-app.js renders a lazily-mounted poster grid or a
thumbnail-only flat list, with TMDB entirely optional per group.
Along the way: the global apps registry now drives Settings' default-tab
picker instead of a hardcoded list, and the video_root is configured from
group Settings (like uploads) rather than from Files, with the node
refusing to run any TMDB/thumbnail work until one is set.
Fixes several bugs found via live testing against a real library, notably
a race between two effects writing the same "image ready" state that could
leave a poster grid spinning forever on a same-tab revisit — see
mediacenter.md §5.4 for the full account of each one.
